CONGRATULATIONS TO NORTHAMPTON TOWN

Northampton Town manager Colin Calderwood described The Video Coach as "probably the best investment we have made in the education of my players" after his team achieved promotion to League One.

The Video Coach began working with Colin at Sixfields at the beginning of December 2004 when Northampton were sitting 13th in League Two.  They immediately won their next four games, and reached the play-offs at the end of the season.

This time the progress has been steady, and after breaking into the automatic promotion places in March they put together a sensational run of seven wins and a draw in eight games to secure the runners-up spot.

Calderwood, recognised as one of the country's brightest young managerial prospects, said: "Using The Video Coach analysis service has made a huge difference to us.  It was something the coaching staff introduced but the players have taken forward and enjoyed.

"Our video sessions can be short and sharp and totally relevant to the points we want to get over - but the players then end up taking away a DVD so that they can go and analyse their own performances.  It has made a significant difference to their education and improvement.

"It was no coincidence that we conceded just 37 goals in a 46 game season.  In the first few months of the campaign the Video Coach technology allowed us to work intensively with the players to help them understand both the defensive shape we wanted and the marking jobs they had to do at set pieces."
